3/8: DJ PIERRE presented by FreeDub & Opel

DJ PIERRE aka THE GODFATHER OF ACID presented by FreeDub and Opel F8 at 1192 Folsom Friday, March 8, 2013 8p-late Main Room: DJ PIERRE (Afroacid.com) Syd Gris (Opel/Opulent Temple) Jonboy (FreeDub) Daniel Yanov (Hidden Measure) Back Room: Loryn (First Base) Billy Seal (Opulent Temple) Kimba (Opel / Delta Nine) 1st Level Presales at $10 http://djpierre.eventbrite.com/ Door $15 DJ PIERRE BIO: Pierre’s importance to modern dance music can’t be overstated. Not many artists in the history of dance music can list Carl Cox, Diesel (X-Press 2), Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia, Michael Mayer (Kompakt Records), Bob Sinclar, and Tom Stephan (Superchumbo) as fans. Not many can claim responsibility for helping kick start the careers of Felix Da Housecat and Roy Davis Jr. Not many can lay claim to giving birth to a genre (Acid House) and pioneering a sound that had the whole world dancing and imitating for over fifteen years. As a founding member of Chicago group Phuture with Spanky and Herb J, the trio’s 1986 single ‘Acid Trax’ didn’t mark the first use of the Roland TB-303′s bass sound in dance music, but it did mark its most significant, setting a template for Acid House that Pierre and Phuture would develop on tracks like "Dream Girl" and "Your Only Friend".
3/9: Forward Intimate Session w NITIN, Adnan Sharif, Star Kommand, Lisbona 3/7: BEAT CHURCH feat: G JONES, MUPPET PUNK, MiHKAL, & BEAT CHURCH RESIDENTS
