Special Treat for those of you attending the show: This night will be the LAST NIGHT OF LUX MASARO'S ART SHOWING at our club. If you haven't already, I strongly recommend you check her site out:http://cargocollective.com/luxiernaga
Lux flew from Madrid some months ago with many pens and pencils in her pockets. Being in a foreign place came with the inevitable loneliness, sitting on your own on a cafe, looking around, drinking in the familiar yet strange sight of people having conversations. Walking around, going into galleries and art shows, then entering yet another café to warm up. And one day, getting hold of the pens and pencils and starting to draw those very places. San Francisco and the East Bay are seen here with the novelty of a dream land. It's easy to forget that this is California, with a capital C, and complain about being cold when wearing flip flops in the middle of the winter. Where there are concerts in the backyards and under the stairs. By drawing these familiar scenes with an unfamiliar eye a highlight is directed to them. To the intrinsic beauty of this daily landscapes, often forgotten.
