Chelsea Brown draws and paints sword wielding, badass ladies bent on revenge and wreaking havoc. Working mainly with graphite, she is inspired by all things epic, legendary and womanly. With a
background in costume design, her work is heavily character driven portraiture infused with narrative. She creates new characters and re-imagines historical figures geared towards emulating female heroes of fiery self-assuredness and primal combative natures. She relishes foggy Sundays of rumination over her drafting table in the Outer Sunset.
Her solo show at F8 (1192 Folsom) is a collection of some classics as well as number of new pieces. The opening reception, which will include the release of a limited print & button gift set, is Thursday, June 26th, 6pm, at F8 (1192 Folsom Street, San Francisco, CA). Happy Hour drink & food specials in full effect. RSVP via Facebook.
