When looking at the works made by the hand of Pavel Brodsky the
viewer is faced with many different words, characters and happenings ready to be explored and interpreted. Rooted in the tradition of craft such as Printmaking and Tattooing, the work takes
this rich heritage that has been passed down by the subsequent generations and re-invents it as interpreted by Pavel’s psyche. Spending his days Tattooing at Anchor Bay Tattoo in Hayward, CA while simultaneously keeping up his role as a student at the California College of the Arts in Oakland offers Pavel a unique perspective on the art world as well as the average working class American. Every experience, from the extraordinary to the mundane finds its way onto the picture-plane. This collection of works offers a glimpse into the formative years of this extraordinary young artist’s career, wading in the harsh realities of the year of our lord two thousand and twelve, Pavel strives to find balance between the muddy reality and eternal beauty. Relatively new to the world of exhibitions and showings, Pavel has created a show of exquisite variety. Unlike many veteran artists, his work still exudes great care and affection for each individual piece and we are absolutely pleased to be showing his work.
This will be Pavel’s second year showing here and we are greatly pleased to show his new creations.
champagne will be served from 9pm- 10pm with a $5 cover.
